Week Two - Day Two
Shame is such an enemy of humanity. Shame attempts to make a moment your identitiy. Imagine that in a moment you step into the deli, does that make you a piece ham? Nope.
As a Christ-follower, your identity is settled by His grace and mercy. Period. You have been adopted into the family of God. Here's what Paul told his friends in Ephesus,
Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT "Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. (5) God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure."
You are not defined by a moment. Your identity is not set by how you feel. You are not defined by what you think or say about yourself. Your identity has been clearly established by God in His Word.
My Takeaway for Today: "Your failure is not final."
How's it going? Leave me a comment if you get a moment.
