Can You Do a One-Eighty?

Week Five - Day Three

We love quick turnarounds. In sports or car chases we love a good 180-degree reversal. The truth of the matter is that the larger the vessel, the longer it takes to turn it.  You can do a 180 on a skateboard much quicker than an oil tanker.  The truth of the matter is that there are things that all of us must turn away from. Paul tells Timothy:

2 Timothy 2:2(NLT) Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

Ask Holy Spirit to teach you to turn quickly and completely from sin and temptation. Seek Him to empower you to return to Jesus and His ways.  Remember we are living from His righteousness and not trying to earn it.  We live from His complete victory on the cross and not for it.  He has called us more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). We Jesus cried, "It is finished!"(John 19:30), that is exactly what He meant.  In every way and in every situation, we have His victory.

Here's today's takeaway: I live from victory and not for victory.
